This Privacy Policy explains how MaxxUp ("MaxxUp", "the App", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects information when you use the MaxxUp mobile application.
MaxxUp is an AI-powered appearance and self-improvement app. The App lets you take or upload a selfie, receive AI-generated appearance insights, and follow a personalized daily routine for grooming, skincare, fitness, sleep, hydration, posture, and related habits.
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using MaxxUp, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Important SummaryMaxxUp processes sensitive-looking information because the App uses selfies and appearance-related analysis. We want to be clear about what happens:
- Your selfie may be sent to an AI service provider to generate your analysis.
- Your selfie is used only to provide your MaxxUp analysis and related self-improvement plan.
- We do not sell your selfies, analysis results, or personal data.
- We do not use your selfie for identity verification, face recognition, authentication, or to identify who you are.
- We do not create or store a biometric identifier or face template for recognizing you.
- Your results are AI-generated estimates for informational self-improvement only. They are not medical, dermatology, nutrition, dental, mental health, or professional advice.
- Subscription purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store and validated using RevenueCat.
- Progress data, analysis results, profile progress, XP, streaks, task completion, and related preferences may be stored on your device and may sync through Apple's iCloud services if enabled on your device.
Face Data Collection, Use, Sharing, Storage, and Retention
MaxxUp collects face data only when you choose to take or upload a selfie for analysis. The face data collected by the App consists of the selfie image you provide, visible facial characteristics contained in that image, and AI-generated outputs derived from the image, such as appearance scores, facial-balance-related scores, jawline-related scores, skin-appearance scores, cheekbone-related scores, grooming-impact scores, recommendations, and progress entries. MaxxUp does not use face data to identify you, authenticate you, verify your identity, recognize you across apps or services, or create a biometric face template.
MaxxUp uses face data only to provide the App's core features: generating your AI appearance analysis, showing your MaxxUp Score and score breakdown, creating personalized self-improvement recommendations, building your daily glow-up plan, displaying your scan results, and helping you track progress over time.
Before AI analysis begins, MaxxUp asks for your permission to send your selfie and onboarding answers to OpenAI. If you agree, your selfie and relevant onboarding answers are transmitted to OpenAI's API for the purpose of generating the analysis, scores, recommendations, and personalized plan. OpenAI processes this information as a third-party AI service provider. OpenAI states that API Platform business data is not used to train its models by default unless the customer opts in, and OpenAI provides contractual, technical, and organizational protections for API data as described in OpenAI's applicable policies and terms. We do not sell face data or share face data with advertisers or data brokers.
Face data and face-data-derived results may be stored in the following places: on your device, in Apple's iCloud Key-Value Store if enabled for your Apple ID and device, and with OpenAI for the limited period and purposes described in OpenAI's applicable policies and terms. MaxxUp may store scan results, scores, recommendations, progress entries, and small scan thumbnails so you can view your results and track progress. MaxxUp does not operate a separate face-recognition database.
Face data retained by MaxxUp on your device or in your iCloud account remains until you delete it, delete App data, remove associated iCloud data, or delete the App, subject to how Apple handles device and iCloud storage. Data processed by OpenAI is retained according to OpenAI's applicable API data retention, abuse-monitoring, security, and legal requirements. Support requests or legal records may be retained as needed to provide support, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce our rights.
2. Information We Collect or Process
Selfies and Photos: If you choose to take or upload a photo, MaxxUp processes that photo to generate your AI appearance analysis and personalized plan. A selfie may show your face and may reveal sensitive information about your appearance, skin, grooming, facial hair, hairstyle, or other visible characteristics.
MaxxUp does not use photos to identify you, verify your identity, authenticate you, or recognize you across services.
Onboarding Answers: MaxxUp may ask for onboarding information such as gender, age range, goals, weakest area, motivation, target level, jawline goals, and related preferences. We use these answers to personalize your analysis, recommendations, and daily tasks.
AI Analysis Results: MaxxUp generates and stores analysis results such as your MaxxUp Score, potential score, jawline score, skin appearance score, facial balance score, cheekbones score, grooming impact score, photo quality score, recommendations, daily tasks, and progress history.
These scores are estimates generated by AI and app logic. They are not objective measurements, professional assessments, medical conclusions, or guarantees of results.
Progress and Habit Data: MaxxUp may store your XP, level, streak, completed tasks, skipped tasks, scan history, progress entries, thumbnails, and related app settings so the App can show your daily plan and progress over time.
Purchase and Subscription Information: If you purchase MaxxUp Premium, Apple processes your payment through your Apple ID. We do not receive your full payment card number, Apple ID password, or full billing details.
We use RevenueCat to validate subscription status, restore purchases, and manage access to premium features. RevenueCat may receive information such as an app user identifier, device and technical information, purchase receipts, transaction status, product identifiers, and subscription history.
RevenueCat's Privacy Policy is available at: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy/
Apple's privacy practices are available at: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
Device, Technical, and Log Information: When the App communicates with third-party services such as OpenAI, RevenueCat, or Apple, those services may automatically receive technical information such as your IP address, device type, operating system, app version, request time, and related network information as part of normal internet communications.
MaxxUp currently does not operate its own user account backend for storing your profile on our servers.
Analytics: MaxxUp may use Singular, a third-party analytics and attribution provider, to measure app installs, onboarding progress, paywall events, subscription funnel events, campaign performance, and general product engagement.
Analytics events may include event names, limited event parameters such as selected onboarding options or product identifiers, device identifiers, attribution identifiers, technical information, app version, device type, operating system, approximate network information, and subscription attribution information received through RevenueCat integrations.
MaxxUp does not send selfies, face images, face data, scan thumbnails, or AI appearance scores to Singular.
Singular's Privacy Policy is available at: https://www.singular.net/privacy-policy/
Communications: If you contact us for support, we may receive your email address, message content, and any information you choose to include. We use this information to respond to you, provide support, investigate issues, and improve the App.

- Create personalized daily routines and tasks.
- Track progress, XP, streaks, levels, scan history, and completed habits.
- Manage subscriptions and premium access.

4. AI Processing and OpenAI
To provide AI analysis, MaxxUp may send your selfie and relevant onboarding answers to OpenAI's API or another AI service provider used by the App. The provider processes this information to return an AI-generated analysis, scores, recommendations, and related output.
OpenAI's privacy and enterprise/API data information is available at: https://openai.com/policies/privacy-policy/ and https://openai.com/enterprise-privacy/
OpenAI states that API Platform business data is not used to train its models by default unless the customer opts in, and that API inputs and outputs may be retained for a limited period for service provision, abuse monitoring, legal, or security reasons, depending on OpenAI's applicable terms and settings.
We do not control OpenAI's systems, retention practices, security practices, or legal obligations. Your use of MaxxUp's AI features requires this third-party processing.
Do not upload photos or provide information you do not want processed by an AI service provider.
5. Local Storage and iCloud
MaxxUp may store your analysis results, progress entries, task history, XP, streaks, subscription access flag, and preferences using Apple on-device storage and Apple's iCloud Key-Value Store.
This means some App data may sync across your Apple devices through your Apple ID if iCloud is enabled. Apple's processing of iCloud data is governed by Apple's own terms and privacy policy.
You can delete App data from within the App where deletion features are available, or by deleting the App and associated iCloud data through your Apple device settings where applicable.
6. Photos and Thumbnails
MaxxUp may keep the currently captured photo in memory while generating and displaying your analysis. The App may also store small thumbnail images as part of progress history so you can compare scans over time.
We do not sell photos or thumbnails. We do not use them for advertising. We do not use them for face recognition.
7. App Permissions
MaxxUp may request the following permissions:
- Camera: Used to take a selfie for AI appearance analysis.
- Photo Library: Used to let you upload a selfie from your gallery.
- Notifications: Used to send reminders for daily tasks, routines, streaks, and progress scans if you choose to enable them.
You can change permissions at any time in your iOS Settings.
8. Notifications
If you enable notifications, MaxxUp may schedule local reminders on your device. These reminders may relate to daily quests, routines, streaks, or progress scans. Notification content is generated by the App and is not sold to advertisers.
You can disable notifications at any time in your iOS Settings.
9. Subscriptions and Payments
MaxxUp may offer optional paid subscriptions such as monthly or annual premium access. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles payment processing, billing, refunds, and payment method information.
We use RevenueCat to validate subscription status and unlock premium features. RevenueCat may process transaction and technical information as described in its Privacy Policy.
You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID subscription settings.
10. Data Sharing
We may share or disclose information only as described in this Privacy Policy:
- With AI service providers, such as OpenAI, to generate analysis and recommendations.
- With RevenueCat to validate subscriptions and manage premium access.
- With analytics and attribution providers, such as Singular, to measure installs, subscription attribution, campaign performance, and product engagement.
- With Apple for App Store purchases, iCloud storage, device permissions, and operating system services.
- With service providers that help us operate, maintain, secure, or support the App.
- If required by law, legal process, court order, or government request.
- To protect the rights, property, safety, or security of users, the App, us, or others.

We do not sell your personal information.
11. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the App, maintain your progress, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect against misuse.
Data stored on your device or in your iCloud account may remain until you delete it, delete the App, use any available in-app deletion tools, or remove associated iCloud data through Apple settings.
Data processed by Apple, RevenueCat, OpenAI, or other third-party providers is retained according to their own policies, terms, technical settings, and legal obligations.
Support communications may be retained as long as necessary to respond to you, maintain business records, and protect legal rights.
12. Data Deletion
You may delete your App data by using in-app deletion features where available, deleting the App from your device, and deleting associated iCloud data through Apple settings where applicable.
You may also contact us at nerezdev@gmail.com to request assistance with privacy requests. Because MaxxUp currently does not operate a traditional user account backend, some data may be controlled directly by you through your device, Apple ID, iCloud, App Store, or third-party services.
Deleting the App does not automatically cancel an active App Store subscription. You must cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID subscription settings.
13. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information processed through the App. However, no method of electronic storage, internet transmission, AI processing, or mobile application operation is completely secure.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device, Apple ID, device passcode, iCloud account, and any information you choose to upload.
14. Children's Privacy
MaxxUp is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you are under 18, you should use MaxxUp only with permission from a parent or legal guardian. Because MaxxUp provides appearance-related feedback, younger users should use the App with care and adult guidance.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through the App, contact us at nerezdev@gmail.com and we will take appropriate steps.
15. Health, Body Image, and Sensitive Use
MaxxUp is designed for general self-improvement and habit-building. It is not designed to diagnose, treat, prevent, or cure any condition. It is not a substitute for medical, dermatology, dental, mental health, nutrition, fitness, or other professional advice.
If you experience distress, anxiety, body image concerns, disordered eating, compulsive behavior, or any health concern, stop using the App and seek help from a qualified professional.
16. International Users
Your information may be processed in countries other than the country where you live, including the United States or other locations where our service providers operate. Data protection laws in those countries may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
Where required, we rely on appropriate legal bases and safeguards for international transfers.
17. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of certain personal information. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
To exercise privacy rights, contact us at nerezdev@gmail.com. We may need to verify your request before responding.
Because much of the App data may be stored on your device or in your Apple iCloud account, some requests may need to be completed by you through device settings, iCloud settings, Apple subscription settings, or the relevant third-party provider.
18. California Privacy Notice
If you are a California resident, you may have rights under California privacy laws, including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of certain sharing or sale of personal information.
We do not sell personal information. We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of users under 16 for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Categories of information that may be processed include identifiers, commercial information, photos, user-generated content, app activity, device information, inference-like AI outputs, and support communications, depending on how you use the App.
19. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date above. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice as required by law.
Your continued use of MaxxUp after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective means you accept the updated policy.
